No surprise
I will add myself to all of your issues. However I will also add that I am aware of the issues and was allowed to use the recall a few years ago. I sent my DV9000 in for the recall and they serviced the hinge issue. Even though I supposedly had my hinge issue taken care of by HP, I still have the hinge issue today! So wait a minute...I was contacted, told there was a hinge issue, I sent my computer back to HP to be serviced under warranty, had it returned and told the problem was fixed, and now I have the same problem again and told they won't fix the problem unless I spend 1/4 of the original purchase price of the computer?
So if you missed the recall, don't worry about it. The "fix" didn't fix anything and you would still be in the same situation.
Keep this in mind HP...
Your digging yourselves into a hole. This is just ONE of the many issues that your refusing to resolve. Your **bleep**ting where you sleep and soon your not going to like what happens. It's amazing what us "little people" can do when we are ripped off and shrugged at. The BBB, The Media, The Internet, etc are powerful weapons as well as free. Are you SURE you want 1000's of your customers spreading their discontent over hundreds of media with you as the center of negative attention?

I too have a broken left hinge on my dv9000... Now I have a really expensive lap top that I can't take ANYWHERE!!!!!! Call HP and of course no one knows anything about this problem.. B.S.!!!!!!!!!

I, too, have a left, broken hinge on my Pavillion dv9000. HP did have a recall. ONLY, it has expired! My hinge broke about two months after they stopped fixing the hinges for free. HP told me...TOO BAD. They offered to fix it for a couple of hundred. {Content Removed: Language Filter Evasion}. Maybe I shoulda taken their BS deal. 'Cuz now, I've got "an expensive computer I can't take any where" or shut/open the screen. SUCKS. {content removed} ...oh, yeah, business as usual. Like many others, I'll not be buying HP for anything else--for the rest of my life. I'm mid-fourties. Good job, HP. {Content Removed: legal discussion} I'll pass that info on, too.
