I'm using an HP Pavilion dv6000 Notebook series.
I noticed that my Caps Lock LED is not working but its FUNCTION is working fine.. same goes with Scroll Lock. Here's the weird part.. when I press Num Lock ( function key + scroll lock ) the LED turns on!
I already tried a system recovery, it didn't solve the issue. Is there something wrong with my BIOS?
Any help from you guys will be highly appreciated.. thanks!

I have the same problem. I bought the laptop several years ago at Costco. I don't know if it is still under warranty or do I have to worry about how long I have owned it? Do you have any suggestions how I should proceed? Thank you.

You can verify your warranty status here:
If your laptop is under warranty, have an HP Authorized Service Center fix it for you. If not, read on..
Get the schematics for your laptop by searching for your specific model laptop and downloading the Service Manual PDF. That will have screw listings, pictures, removal process, etc. Grab a Phillips#1 and Torx#8 screwdriver and a magnet to hold the screws you remove.
Per schematics, remove the keyboard, and then take a look at the keyboard bezel (the plastic piece above the keyboard with all the lights). Look for ribbon cables coming out from under the bezel going in to a ZIF connector. Remove the ribbon cables from the ZIF, verify that the metal on the cable looks good, and re-seat it back in the ZIF and make sure it is flush and evenly in there. Put the laptop back together and verify it now works right, if not you could try again, order a replacement part, or say screw it all together. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the great infomation. Unfortunately my laptop is out of warranty and I am not very technical. I guess I will just live with it because I assume taking to a PC repair shop would not be very cost effective.

Get home today and realized that the caps lock led don't fooling up anymore. has anyone else had kindred problems? if so, how was your situation rectified? the keyboard still activity floury, don't opine its a bad sufficiency difficulty to love it replaced or be without it for ages. could see if apple instrument earmark a somebody exchange at the outlet.Requiring the user to do anything with the caps lock secure for it to output and indicate opposite than machine it is an nonstandard, apple. real unenviable. you'd suppose a position buoyant in this day and age.
