Hi guys,
I bought a dv2090en in Latvia a few months back. Everything works fine, the webcam also worked perfectly.
Recently I moved to another country, obviously taking the laptop along. A few weeks ago I realized that the webcam doesnt work, the error message said "the webcam is not supported when using resolution under 1270x768". My resolution was 1270x760 at that point, as it was easier to work that way. Alright, I changed it back to default, but the webcam doesn't wanna work still. The error is "connection to the video device was lost". I tried reinstalling the drivers, tried installing the acer crystal eye drivers (the solution i found on the net - helped a lot of ppl), removed the hardware from device manager completely and installed it again using the software from hp.com - nothing works.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? I really don't want to give it in to some customer service, as I'm a student and I cant afford being without a laptop for a long time. Can't exchange it either, cus I moved away. No settings or anything were changed over that time, at first it worked and then it didn't.
Thanks
