Hi
There are few important steps you need to check.
1) Once unit is powered on keep tapping the F2 key then run the Hard drive & Memory test if any test fails then you need to replace the part.
2) If both test passes once unit is powered on keeping tapping F11 key try doing system restore to date where unit was working fine.
3) Once unit is powered on keeping tapping F11 key try doing a System recovery before this knidly back up your data as it will be lost incase you are not able to boot to F11 option. Please contact HP technical support and order the recovery disc.

Hi
How-to run Windows in Selective Startup (Clean Boot)…
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click System Configuration.
2. Click Continue, or provide Administrator credentials if prompted.
3. Click the General tab, and click Selective startup.
4. Under Selective startup uncheck Load startup items.
5. Click the Services tab, check the Hide all Microsoft services box, and then click Disable all.
6. Then click on Startup then click on Disable all.
7. Click the Apply, then OK, and then Restart.

I have the dv7 6c95dx, bought about 4 months ago. I am having problems with the wifi turning itself off and will NOT turn back on. The light changes color from light blue to orange--without being touched. I push the button to turn it back on--sometimes get the little blurb onscreen that says wifi turned off-push button to turn back on.Nope=won't do it. I have to either restart the computer or completely shut it down and wait 10 minutes or so. Anyone with an idea whats going on?

I have a dv7-6c95dx and after closing my laptop display, without putting it to sleep or turning it off, i would open it back up after some time and the computer would shut down badly (like when you press and hold the power button or remove the battery.) Please help me be able to fix this.
