dvd drive gone

Hi i have a g6065ea laptop and i love it :smileyhappy: i installed windows 7 not long after i got it and everything has been fine until recently when the dvd drive just disappeared. the lights come on but i get nothing. bought a new drive and still nothing. any ideas?

O P.S. i sent it in for overheating repair which they did but ever since my web cam doesn't show up (bit like the drive)
