expansion base USB ports & hard drive no longer recognized

I've been fighting with this same issue on my 8510w & advanced docking station since THREE months ago. SO bad news due what above mentioned are as of a resolution to mine.

1. Go to the device manager, I could find the hx2lp device in the USB controller section

2. All others under the properties with the "rollback" button no function.

Yesterday, I did try HP newly released update named as  HP USB 2.0 Docking Station Driver:

without any improvement.

I did try on-line chat with HP Support for six times more with total time more than 10 hours, and problem still remain same.

HP Active Chat staff had recommended me sending it to service center for repair after my on-line chat with them again yesterday, but I have no enough time to have my laptop away from me as I just guess it may be kept there for very long time.

Is there any solution available here and now?

I'm actually trying to find the adapter that goes between the XB2000 type 2 cable and a Type 1 expansion port on my notebook, The manual say's there is one but Ican't find it in my box or listed as a part online

 can anyone help????
