g62-225dx does not power on

The system will not power on, with or without battery, with or without power adapter. Tested power adapter and it's putting out proper voltage. Opened the case enough to examine the power connector port. It does not look damaged, nor do the wires connecting it.

 

Is the next most likely cause a motherboard? Is this a problem anyone else has seen with this model?
