Hello, I am using the following model:
HP DV7-3160US WA793UA.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
I was wondering if there are any recommended upgrades for this model. I cannot find any posts that gives a suitable cross reference of possible processor upgrades, or a video card upgrades as the 512 seems a little low. I was also considering buying 2 4GB ram cards but was unsure if I would notice much difference with the current os. If any are available please list them (the processor and video card that is). One final question, I have a bad main cooling fan and need a replacement. Is it best to put the original model back in, or is there a higher output model available?

Video cannot be upgraded, it is part of the motherboard.
W7 will run ok on 2gb memory, 4gb would be better.
Turion M640 is the only processor upgrade option I can find for that model, I doubt it is worth the effort for the minimal increase in processing power from the M620 you have.
Fan is part of a heatsink assembly, HP part number 533735-001, I doubt there is any other one that will work in that laptop.
