hp g60-100em smart card reader gone missing

As above, I have a g60-100em and the smart card reader is now not showing up at all on computer. it has worked previously, is now now not recognising a previously used card, on trying diagnostics it is saying the device is working properly. Have tried uninstalling and re-installing, tried updating drivers, all to no avail.

 

Can anybody help me?
