hp g71 startup

when i try to start laptop. it has no power no lights completely dead.

if i unplugg battery and plugg in then it starts and runs fine.

everytime i start laptop i have to unplug battery and plugg back in.

i have replaced the battery. any suggestions?

After you start it up does the battery then charge? I ask that to see if it might be your adapter.

before i unplugg battery with charger plugged in there are no lights at all.

normallly when charger is plugged it will show a light even before pressing power button.

after starting laptop it seems to charge ok.

I think there is a chance you may have gotten a bad battery.
