i have a compaq f700 wont reconise cd/dvd,shows C:hard drive.D restore but no E:cd/dvd

compaq f700 only shows C: harddrive D:restore partition but NO E:cd/dvd ,In the bios it shows cd but in the list of my hardware it shows no dvd/cd drive,,,,running vista....any ideas on how to create or make my computer reconise mycd drive

Hi,

Do you have a music CD ? Put it in, can you see it under Windows Explorer ? It may not be E, can be F or other alphabetic letter.

Try to open up device manager and see if the drivers have been installed for this DVD drive.
