if i swap my hard drive, how do i reinstall windows?

My girlfriends hard drive has failed. When I get a new one, I will need to reinstall windows.

Vista was already installed when she purchased the laptop brand new?

If your girlfriend created a set of Recovery Discs, you can use these to reinstall Vista on the new Hard Drive - see the guide Here for further details.

If you don't have these, you can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs using the link below.

Hi

Once you get the new Hard drive that will be blank you need to install operating system back on your unit. Check if you have recevied any Recovery disc or created one. Incase you have not then please call HP Technical support and order the disc or click on the weblink given to order the part online.
