Hi,

 

Well, the risk is this may damage your machine when suddenly losing power (main). I actually do not use batteries on some of my laptops BUT I plug them to a UPS unit.

 

My suggestion - keep battery on your machine unless you are having a UPS. Please refer to this for UPS:
