Just to let everyone know. I installed a 2gb PC-5300 DDR2 SODIMM (667mhz) and it works like a charm in my mini 1000.
I just got my mini 1000 and love it. Don't know why HP isn't selling them with 2gb of memory. Even when it states in their Maintnance manual that 2gb will work.
Now my next task is to install a 64gb SSD drive. Patriot has one that will work in the mini 1000 for $159.99 (Available at frys.com). My only problem is I DON'T have a USB DVD drive to reinstall the OS & other software that came with my mini. So I am looking for a freind who has one i can borrow.
Once I do... I will report back and let you know how well it works. I have plugged the 64gb SSD into the mini1000 and the BIOS recognized it without any problems.

I have noticed it will boot from a USB drive. Anyone know how to create a bootable USB drive?
