Hi,
JoeCNM wrote:I think I spoke too soon. It appears the problem is intermittent. It happens less often in the default Power Saver option. I was told by HP Support that the new BIOS would correct the problem - but they were wrong.
From what I have read and heard, there are some Windows 7 updates that help as well. Check the update site to see if there are some important updates for your OS. You can check the KB (knowlegebase) to see what they are before installing them.

Hi!
I'm currently using the BIOS release F04 and the problem isn't fixed. I'm running under Windows XP.
The explanation I was given by a technical guy (not from hp
) is that, starting at wake-up both the HD motor and the fan motor at the very same time causes a surge in power demand, thus shutting down the mini 311c.
Main drawback is the limited battery life. I can't get more than 4 1/4 hours
. What are your records?
Shall we wait for the next release of the BIOS, F06 or something?
Best regards, ![]()

In experimenting with my computer I hosed it and had to reinstall the operating system. Once I did that I downloaded all of the Win7 updates. It appears that this fixed the issue. With the F.04 Bios I can disable the "always on" fan settings in the bios and wake from sleep without an issue. I have reset my PC numerous times without a problem. Not sure what really solved the problem.

Hmmm... problem started up again. Ignore my previous post. There is no solution to the problem that I'm aware of. It is an intermittent problem.

Hi,
New BIOS release F.14 is available. I've just installed it.
Allow me a couple of days to test it ![]()
First feedback is the fan seems louder. ![]()
@erico: any official statement from hp about this BIOS update and this bug?
Best regards,
