Please help us help you. What kind of computer is it? What kind of games? Solitaire or Diablo 3? It might be a video driver or a cooling problem, or bad memory or a bad hard drive. Have you recently installed anything new?

Your laptop is old enough that it may just need to have the cooling fan and heatsink cleaned out. Assassins Creed is fairly demanding so we can assume the laptop gets hot running it. Check to see if you have the latest video driver, too.

The first thing to try is compressed air into the vent. Stick a bent-out paperclip in to hold the fan blades so the bearings do not spin too fast. See if dust comes out. If you cannot clean it fully this way the laptop has to be opened up as if the processor were being replaced.
Above is a link to your Service Manual. You have to clean it out and clear off the old cooling compound and apply new.
