unusual fan noise

I recently bought a new notebook, an HP Compaq Presario CQ56-100. From the second day on I realized that it makes an unusual and rather loud noise coming from the vent on its left side. The noise starts immediately after turning on the computer. It has the same sound as when reading a cd or dvd. It's annoying and I don't think a brand new laptop should sound like this. Could anyone help me with that? Thanks in advance.

I've already updated BIOS, it didn't help.
