**bleep**k like seriously hp i been using for last 6 - 7 years my family even more.. from onward we r hating so much hp wouldnt even think to hp anymore.  hp are the {Content Removed: Language Filter Evasion} laptops and PC believe me i bought my laptop n spend almost a grand but still the {Content Removed: Language Filter Evasion} too slow instead of getting i ould have bought APPLE soon there's  no virus nothing n soo slow plus the webcam doesnt work...  laptop is very good condition not have been used alot but **bleep**kkk

I own a Pavilion dv7 6163us and when I try to open YouCam it tells me, "No Webcam detected. Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now.  If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on."  I went to the HP Marketplace and downloaded the software and drivers, and I still get the same response.  Is there a way to turn the webcam off in the system?  If so, how do you turn it back on?  This is very frustrating!  Especially since I see I am not the only person with this problem.

I see that you're having an issue with the webcam. This seems like a software/driver issue.

Knowing you already tried updating the drivers, I would suggest trying to recover the webcam software and drivers. 

Before you go that route though try following this document which will guide you through a couple steps. 

The biggest step you will need to take on this document is "Reinstalling the original webcam program that came with your computer."

This step will guide you through recovery the program and driver. Please let me know the outcome.

I finally got the configure to actually work on my software, but when I go to find a capture device, I don't have any listed?!?  So now what do I do?
