I have just reformatted my laptop (DV7 3008TX) with windows 8.

On the HP website, there are no options for downloading drivers for Win8.

Also, in the device manager I am getting 3 Base System Device, 1 Multimedia Controller and 2 unknown device driver errors.

Any/all advice would be appreciated.

All three Base System Devices come up with the same hardware ID, which is below.

PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2384&SUBSYS_363C103C&REV_00
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2384&SUBSYS_363C103C
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2384&CC_088000
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2384&CC_0880

Both the unknow device come up with differnet Hardware IDs

ACPI\VEN_ENE&DEV_0100
ACPI\ENE0100
*ENE0100

ACPI\VEN_HPQ&DEV_0004
ACPI\HPQ0004
*HPQ0004

Worked! Thank you!

However, I did forget to put the multimedia hardware ID in my first post.

Didn't realise until after updating all the other stuff.

Please find the hardware ID below.

I also had this error, but when I tried using the online updater it could not find drivers.

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&SUBSYS_0A551461&REV_03
PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&SUBSYS_0A551461
PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&CC_048000
PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&CC_0480

EDIT: I unselected your post as the solution because I am now sure if it closes the thread or not. Will select it again once I have fixed the multimedia problem as well. apologize.

HP Pavillion dv7 3008TX, Australia.

The Specs on the website say it has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M, not radeon

Apparently that system only came with Windows 7 drivers.

Windows 7 drivers say Nvidia also.

You might try to run Windows Update and see if it installs the drivers for you.
