Installed correctly, disable option still unavailable.

 

Went to Mouse properties, which looks different from the screenshot, and found the equivalent of the ClickPad Settings tab. It doesn't have a button to disable the ClickPad, but after this new installation it has an option to disable internal porting when a USB device is attached.

 

Clicked that, and now it's disabled!

 

Thank you for all the help! This makes everything so much easier!

I can turn the touch pad off or on by tapping the small square in the top left corner: 3 taps for off, one tap for on.
