Disabling touchpad on probook 6560b

How does one go about disabling the touchpad--I have never encountered one that was not easily disabled, until now.

Hi,

Try double-tapping the top left corner of the TouchPad as this is often the method to toggle the pad On/Off - the area is shown in fig.3 on Page 11/12 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.

Re: Disabling touchpad on probook 6560b

I wish that would work, but it does not.   Wondering if I should download the most recent drivers and then this would be fully functionable?   I will need to find the latest drivers

Re: Disabling touchpad on probook 6560b

Hi,

Your notebook is shown as having a Synaptics TouchPad - you can find the latest driver installer for this by choosing the relevant operating system from the link below.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5045607...

After the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

Regards,

Fantastic, worked like a charm.  Thank you very much.  This has helped me and a half dozen co-workers that just got this laptop.

Disable touchpad zoom function

I find the touchpad zoom feature annoying.

I'd disable the touchpad completely except I know I'd quickly wear out the rubber tip on the pointer, and I don't want to carry around an external mouse.

Tried downloading the latest touchpad driver but several screens of selection options into that process I was stumped by this question:

» HP ProBook 6560b Base Model Notebook PC
» HP ProBook 6560b Notebook PC
» HP ProBook 6560b Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

How do I disable the touchpad zoom feature without disabling the touchpad?

Re: Disabling touchpad on probook 6560b

After struggling, and none of the other options working, I have finally solved this with your advice. This was for a ProBook 4520s. Thank you. Thank you.
