HP Battery Drain ?!

Hi my HP Folio 9470m(the 500Gb model) only manages about 4 h.....4:30 h max on Power Saver , wifi and screen at 35%, so nowhere near the 7...7:30h that most review sites  say it gets. Also using HW monitor i saw that the Cores temp is about 40-41 C and the fan is always spinning

What do you guys think is it a Harware problem a Software problem ? Any ideas will be appreciated

Re: HP Battery Drain ?!

Computers NEVER last the advertised battery life.  The Elitebook Revolve is advertised as up to 8hours, but I get about 5 hours MAX.

Your computer is operating fine.  In the future, just knock off a couple of hours off the advertised battery life and that is probably where you'll perform in real life.

Re: HP Battery Drain ?!

Do you think that replacing the 500 gb mechanical hdd+ the msata 32 module with a mSATA SSD would have an impact on overall  battery life(+1 hour or something)? :smileyhappy:

Re: HP Battery Drain ?!

According to this test, you won't get more than 1/2 an hour.  However, that's testing over constant  use so you might be able to squeeze a little bit more.  Unfortunately, I believe it's the battery capacity limitation and weight balance that's our limit at the moment.  If you want more battery life, adding more battery will make the laptop too heavy to hold.

Personally, I won't go back to HHD, I enjoy to almost instant start up and speed.

I just re-read your post. I doubt a combo would do much as you are powering not one, but two devices.  The SSD will basically be a boost to your device and still requre the HDD.
