Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual which will provide the information you wanted.

Yes, you can install a Pentium M 770.

Maximum memory is 2 x 1 GB of DDR2 PC2-4200.

Looking at the BIOS release notes, it does not appear the BIOS needs to be updated to install the M770.

You're very welcome.

if you are sure there is PC3200 or PC2700 memory in your notebook then the manual is wrong.

If your notebook has PC3200 memory it could be PC2-3200 (400 Mhz) memory, so make sure.

You can always run the free crucial memory scan tool and see what it reports.

The notebook has the mobile Intel 915 chipset so it should also have DDR2 memory as well.

I have a Dell notebook with the same chipset and mine takes 2 x 1 GB of PC2-4200 (533 MHz) memory.

Wow...

That stinks!

You definitely convinced me that you have PC2700 memory in there.

I wonder if you can install PC3200 memory, and if it will run at 400 MHz?

The service manual is wrong.

The link to the nc6120 quickspecs show the memory is only DDR.
