Re: HP ENVY 15 j031ss BIOS F.24

Hi 253777,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP ENVY 15-j031ss Notebook

and not detecting the 128 SSD. You will have to change your boot menu F9  Boot Device Options on startup and tell it to boot to the new 128 SSD drive. You will have to install your operating system.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Re: HP ENVY 15 j031ss BIOS F.24

I have in Boot Manager onlyl this options:

OS boot Manager

Boot From EFI File

Notebook Hard Drive

How I can boot from SSD if it's not visible in boot menu?

Hi 253777,

Sometimes the component might not be connected properly. To correct this problem, you should remove and reseat the new components. Try reseat the memory. Have you tried to update the BIOS.

Please let me know how things go.

Thanks.

Hi 253777,

If you are trying to boot with the SSD card, you will not be able to boot to it. It does not have the capability to boot.

Thanks.

Re: HP ENVY 15 j031ss BIOS F.24

Your BIOS doesn't have capability to boot from SSD. Why?

1) Take off HDD

2) Install WIN7 to SSD

and oh miracle - all flying and boot from ssd, but when I put formatted hdd back to the laptop it's doesn't work again.

No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key.

Can you do special BIOS when users will be choose from where they want to load - SSD or HDD? Is it so hard to do?

Re: HP ENVY 15 j031ss BIOS F.24

Please, fix this bag in your new BIOS. I know many people waiting when they can specify in BIOS "Load with SSD" and stop bull**bleep**ting.

Thank you.

Re: HP ENVY 15 j031ss BIOS F.24

I can load from SSD when HDD physicaly ejected.

But when I put it back to laptop it's impossible to load from SSD.

Why you can't do normal BIOS with option LOAD FROM SSD? What is your problem?

I'm your client, I paid money for this laptop and I want to work with SSD card as BOOT disk. Why I can't choose SSD as the BOOT DEVICE????????????

Please, fix this BIG mistake in new BIOS version!
