Hi guys,

I have troubles with getting work my HP EliteBook 8460p Hotkeys in Windows 8.1 - does anybody of you know this problem and maybe can tell me/us a solution to that?

I tried to install "HP Hotkey Support" in these versions: 4.6.10.1, 5.0.11.1, 5.0.20.1 but none of these works. The installation goes threw (after explicit installing the MS Framework 3.5 SP1, because with Win 8.1 integrated Framework 4.0 it doesn't run the setup) and delivers no errors, processes are running but the Hotkeys don't work.

All other devices are working (sometimes with some tricks) - so if anybody need help with installation of Win 8.1 onto a EliteBook 8460p - feel free to ask!

Thank you for helping me!

Greetings,

Fab

Hello again,

I solved the problem after a lot of experimental work... Here is the solution:

--- HP Hotkey Support for Windows 8.1 ---

1. Install MS Framework 3.5 SP1 (control panel/programs/add windows features)

2. Get the Hotkey Support driver in version 4.5.9.1 for Windows 7 from HP driver site for EliteBook 8460p (it is sp56876)

3. Unzip the package

4. Go to C:\swsetup\sp56876 and open properties and go to the tab "compatibility" and chose from the compatibility mode list "Windows 7"

5. Check "run as admin"

6. Install

Now every driver runs with Windows 8.1 on the ElitePad 8460p.

Greetings,

Fab
