HP Envy dv6 7247cl: What is the cable that connects my HDD to my laptop?

There's a small cable about an inch long it connects a SATA 300 HD to something else I can't reconize inside my laptop, my hard drive died and my warranty's long gone, is it possible to replace the cable incase replacing my HDD doesn't work?

Here's a visual.

Thanks.

Re: HP Envy dv6 7247cl: What is the cable that connects my HDD to my laptop?

Hello andrew8blue,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I viewed your image and read your thread. The cable is not a replaceable part. You would likely need to replace the whole motherboard if the HDD does not work.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Ah, well thanks. I'll try to replace the HDD anyway.
