About a year ago, the 9 l o . and volume keys stopped working on my laptop for no apparent reason. At that point, the laptop was less than a year old. I tried to send it in to HP, but by the time their box got to me to send it to them in the mail, I needed my laptop for school (I'm a college student). Any ideas what the problem could be and/or how I can fix it without losing my laptop for 2-6 weeks?? Thanks in advance!! I've just been using the on-screen keyboard for the keys that don't work.

Hi Dyllyn, and welcome to the HP Forums!  Smiley Happy

I understand that you are having an issue with keys not working on your keyboard.  I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. To better guide you, could you please tell me the model number of your laptop and the operating system that is running on it. Here are some guides in case you need them.

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

Which Windows operating system am I running?

I am also including this document for Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting (Windows 7) in hope that the steps may resolve your issue.  Smiley Wink

I hope this information helps, please let me know how it goes.

Good luck and have a great day!

I worked on behalf of HP.
