HP Pavillion dv4, Windows 7, Battery not charging- needs to be plugged in

Everything is in the Subject- but basically the computer needs to be plugged in or else it wont turn on, even after being "charged" all night.

Does this sound like a problem with the battery or the ability of the computer to load power to the computer?

Thanks so much!

Have you had the laptop for a long time?

Run the battery check that is in the HP Assistant. It will let you know the condition of the battery.

Post your results here please.

Identify your notebook in the same manner that you see in my signature. Include all alphanumeric characters.

Re: HP Pavillion dv4, Windows 7, Battery not charging- needs to be plugged in

Hi Erico,

I have had the laptop for just about a year.

The battery check said its health was good. "Battery health indication multiple cells charging ang discharging"

The Serial # for the computer is Pavillion dv4 CND0132K1P

The model number is dv4-2145dx

the processor is AMD Turion(tm) II Dual Core Mobile m520

Is that enough/the right information to help you?

Thanks again,

Andy

Read this document and follow the troubleshooting instructions to isolate the issue. It sounds like a defective battery even though the battery check says it is OK.  If your notebook is still in warranty, contact HP .
