if i perform hard reset on hp g62, then it will not affect the pictures and programs on the hdd?

Hard Reset does not change any settings on the notebook, so it will not affect your pictures/music/data on the hard drive.

Just to confirm, by Hard Reset, you mean the following steps.

To remove the battery and the adapter and press the power button for 30 odd seconds and then plug the adapter only and power up the notebook.

The above are the steps for a Hard Reset.

Having same problem ....did reset has described above, but no light at plug point. Verified power at AC adapter....still nothing.....any ideas?
