Hi,

 

I have a question about my hp probook 6550b. When I hover my mouse on the battey icon it says battery #1 percentage and battery #2 not present. So, I was wondering how many batteries are in this laptop? Where can I find the other battery because I can only see one battery.

Hi,

 

It has 2 batteries actually, the main one is used to power the machine and the second one called CMOS or RTC (Real Time Clock) battery which in inside the machine. We may need to change RTC battery after 5 or 6 years, it's a CR2032 battery actually but can be covered in a "bag".

Actually battery 1 and battery 2 refers to an optional battery "slice" attachment available for the Probook model laptops. There is actually a second battery that can clip on the bottom of the laptop on the docking port. It kind of looks like a docking station but with both batteries you can run the laptop 7 or 8 hours.
