Just an update. I disabled the touchpad, and hooked up my usb mouse, and it is still doing the same thing. What should I do?

I was just googling for a solution to this and this thread was one of the first things to come up. So I hope it's OK to dig up this old thread and share the solution to this that I just discovered.

Right above the touchpad, there is a little blue light. Right next to that is the on/off button for the touchpad. Yup, it's that easy. The light turns orange once you disable it.

Hope that helps some future googlers!

Double touch upper left corner of mouse pad. Small orange LED will turn on in same corner. Pad is now OFF
