Hope the board I chose is best fit for my question...

I have Battery Alert. From Starup Menu, select System Diagnostics, but there is no Battery Test option.

I plan to have replacement but would like to see test option first.

Please help me on how to see Battery Test option. Thxs.

Hello ValerieAU, welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you're trying to test the battery. I will assist you with this.

As you cannot do this through system diagnostics, you can try to do through HP Support Assistant.

Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 7) - this will help you with doing the testing through Support Assistant.

Let me know if this was able to help you.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

I worked on behalf of HP.

I have the same problem with a HP Probook 4540s and Windows 7.

When I press Escape, I only get a choice of which Windows to boot (only have 7), and a memory diagnostics tool.

There is no battery test in my startup menu and I also don't have an HP support assistant as described here

I have the original Windows 7 software installation that came with my HP two years ago.

Can you help?

Thank you!

Alright it just took one more step that I missed before, sorry about that!

I had to use the HP Help and Support installer to install the HP Support Assistant.

Hopefully this is at least helpful for someone else with the same problem.

Battery test was really fast and if it is correct, it seems that I need to replace it.
