The best part is you can likely pick up a T4500 processor dirt cheap, like 5 bucks:

Just do 4 gigs...i.e. add a second 2 gig module and take out the 1 gig module. For a total price of 50 bucks going from a single core to a dual core and bumping the RAM 25% should make it quite a bit more useable. I would not even be surprised if some simple games work a bit better.
