Install SSD in HP Envy 17-j053ea

[ Edited ]

I've bought a 256GB SSD to go into my HP Envy 17-j053ea with an existing 1TB drive.

Will my warranty or windows licence be invalidated if I install Windows 8.1 on the SSD and replace the existing 1TB drive?

I can only answer your first question.

The warranty will not be voided if you install a SSD in your notebook.

However HP will not cover any collateral damage you may cause by trying to install the hard drive, nor will they provide any warranty support for the SSD or the operating system you install in lieu of the original HP factory installed OS.
