Product Name : HP 2000 Notebook PC

Operating System : WIN7

Problem : Not booting win7 only shows its logo

Test done : Hard disk extensive test result : SMART Check Passed, Long DST Failed

Failure ID : PGDLXF-0006MP-MFKT1F-61FL03

When run ubuntu 12.04 from dvd it mounts two of three partitions & opens files of the mount partions

Please help.

That result from the hard disk test indicates a failing hard disk or imminent failure of the hard disk. The hard disk requires replacement with a new one.

Thanks for the immediate response.Yes it has warranty coverage up to 2013.11.22. Do i get the replacement of the hard disk free of cost.

Yes.  It is covered under your warranty.

 

Contact HP.  Advise the Service Engineer you speak with of the test results you had.

Thank you again. What about the data? Do they recover it for me? I had full system backup in it's one of the partitions.

i got a same problem,
i bought my laptop from nepal and now im in USA so i dont know what to do??
its under the warrenty as well.
please help me if you have any idea.
