Product Name : HP 2000 Notebook PC
Operating System : WIN7
Problem : Not booting win7 only shows its logo
Test done : Hard disk extensive test result : SMART Check Passed, Long DST Failed
Failure ID : PGDLXF-0006MP-MFKT1F-61FL03
When run ubuntu 12.04 from dvd it mounts two of three partitions & opens files of the mount partions
Please help.

That result from the hard disk test indicates a failing hard disk or imminent failure of the hard disk. The hard disk requires replacement with a new one.

Yes. It is covered under your warranty.
Contact HP. Advise the Service Engineer you speak with of the test results you had.
