Hi everybody. I have a minor problem here.
I have a HP Pavillion dv2000 laptop.
(Here's a picture of it) Just today I noticed that my left mouse key was loose. It occasionally makes a little like "Crack" noise when I push it a certain way. It still works and everything but it's kind of sticking out. just the front part, the back part is okay. It's not that much of a big deal, but it's getting kind of annoying.(I just don't want it to fully become loose and stop working in the future)
I was wondering whether there was a way to fix it? I did some researching and found out that replacing the top cover will help? I don't think I will be able to do it myself, so I was wondering whether taking it to a repair shop will be a good idea? or like Geek Squad? Only thing I'm worried about is prices and whether it'll even be possible. If anybody has any insight, or something similiar happened, if you could please offer suggestions, will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everybody!

You don't need to replace the cover - just the trackpad assembly. I have a dv2 as well (a dv2915nr) and the part number for my trackpad is 451341-001. http://h20141.www2.hp.com/Hpparts/Search_Results.aspx?mscssid=EB24CF0D562D4D34826CED55FF5A6B46&Searc...
The part should be the same for all dv2s but you can look up the parts specific to your model here: http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/default.aspx?mscssid=EB24CF0D562D4D34826CED55FF5A6B46
Of course, ordering through the HP website can be expensive (50 bucks for a trackpad!!) so I recommend looking for the part through ebay or something.
As for actually replacing it yourself - it's a little complicated and I'd recommend you just go to a repair shop and let them do it, but if you really want to do it yourself here's a nice little guide on how to dismantle your computer:
It's meant for cleaning out the heatsink and fan assembly on your motherboard but just follow steps 1 through 3 to get your top cover off.

I have the same issue with a HP I bought only a few months ago. Would this type of job be covered under the guarantee? I don't fancy paying out for something that isn't my fault and the laptop is fairly new.
