Pavilion g6 tochpad replacement ?

Would anyone be able to shine some light on this? I've been searching & searching but can't find a touchpad!

I can find touchpads for g6 2000 models etc but not g6-1220sa which is the model I have :smileyindifferent:.

Would another touchpad fit as they look the same.

The Touchpad is part of the Top Cover:

Top cover (includes TouchPad board):
● For use in Ocean Drive computer models 637196-001
● For use in Luminous Rose computer models 641287-001
● For use in Sweet Purple computer models 641297-001
● For use in Butter Gold computer models 641299-001
● For use in Pewter computer models 641291-001
● For use in Charcoal Grey computer models 641289-001
● For use in Sonoma Red computer models 641285-001
● For use in Pacific Blue computer models 641293-001
● For use in Pearl Pink computer models 641295-001

Above is the part list for the G6-1000 series. For the G6-2000 series it is:

Top cover (includes TouchPad board):
● For use in Ruby Red computer models 681823-001
● For use in Winter Blue computer models 681824-001
● For use in Sparkling Black computer models 681825-001

So it looks like the G6-2000 series parts are different.

Here is just the Touchpad on eBay for the g6-1000 series. This is not an official part as HP does not sell them separately but this seller did the separation and it can be done if you are careful. Hard to go wrong for $10 shipped.

Re: Pavilion g6 touchpad replacement ?

I am also looking for a touchpad replacement for my g6-1000 series laptop.

HP calls it "top cover assembly"

I cannot find a source online.

Can anyone help?
