Problem in wireless button, only

I have done the hard restart exactly to HP instructions, removed bluetooth, and the virtual wireless WiFi.  I have followed every HP protocol for troubleshooting, including updating the driver.

The Wireless button refuses to go from orange to blue.

New ideas?

Re: Problem in wireless button, volume mute button and volume scroll zone

Many thanks for that solution CherylG.

After upgrading to Win7 I had accepted losing the volume scroll as a necessary loss - especially since HP didn't want to provide any Win7 assistance for my 4 yr old Pavillion dv9000.

Must admit it didn't work too reliably before the upgrade so learnt to live without it.

Must admit too that I didn't expect this trick to work - very pleasantly surprised!

Thanks again!

Spoke too soon - it only lasted 5 minutes - never mind - at least everything else is still working.

Re: Problem in wireless button, volume mute button and volume scroll zone

Product Name and Number: HP pavilion dv6-6140US

Product Number: RG274UA#ABA

Operating System installed: Windows XP

Starting last week June7 my wireless button, stopped working and I have no sound.  The mute and volume scroll work but no sound.  I tried numerous times taking out the battery and holding down the volume buttion for 30 seconds.  No good.  I removed andI down loaded all of the latest drivers and still nothing.

Please help.

Thanks SB

Re: Problem in wireless button, volume mute button and volume scroll zone

I followed the procedure again & left it overnight with no power - it's been working fine ever since.
