I just purchased a HP Pavilion dv6-6145dx from Best Buy. The specs listed stated that the processor (AMD A6-3500M) runes at 2.4ghz. According to Windows Experience Index, the processor is 1.5ghz. Also, CPUID lists the core speed at 807.5mhz...not sure how that translates. Anyway, I have read on a couple of different forums that the processor on these laptops are mislabled as 2.4 and are really 1.5. I bought this laptop over an Intel i5/i7 because of the AMD A6 processor that I read was almost as powerful as the i7....it can't be at 1.5. Please explain...

Yes, they can put it as 2.4GHz legally because the processor can run at that speed. Basically, it is a quad- core CPU and can be overclocked. You can see many Intel i7 quad-core CPU's also show only 1.x GHz too for example the i7 720QM.
Hope this helps.
