Thank you so much! That fixed the USB ports!    Only one more thing that is not workin in my device manager, the ethernet controller.  Can you also help with this one?  REALLY appreciate the help!!!

I am having the same issues on my HP Pavilion dv6-6145dx,

I just re-installed windows 7 and my SM bus controller and USB controller drivers are missing,

 

 

Could you please tell me which ones I need? I would appreciate it so much.

Hi:

 

For your HP Pavilion dv6-6145dx, download and install the AMC Chipset Drivers from the link below.

 

You want the first file listed on the webpage.  That will install the smbus and usb3 controllers.

Hi, I really need your assistance on this...

 

I just formatted my HP Pavillion DV6 Notebook PC... but after formatting, the device manager shows a question mark on the SM Bus Controller and the USB Controller. I've tried to download the drivers but none seems to be working. Two of my four USB ports are not working properly.

 

The SM Bus Controller properties are ...

 

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C22&SUBSYS_1656103C&REV_05

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C22&SUBSYS_1656103C

You need these drivers for your dv6 for those ID's:

 

SM Bus Controller:  Install this driver first and reboot.
