Re: Startup error message "system cooling fan not working" (90B)

I performed all the HP system tested on startup. They all passed. So, I took the back off and blew all the dust out and off the fans. Rebooted and no error message. Bottom line, pull off the back and keep it clean. Thankyou for the help in finding the HP diagnostics. It helped convince me the problem was something else.

Re: Startup error message "system cooling fan not working" (90B)

Hi

I think it's indicating to replace the fan and heat sink assembly.

It occurs due to overheating & this decreased performance.

Try to do a hard reset first.

You may try doing a COMPLETE HARD DRIVE TEST & COMPETE MEMORY TEST from BIOS soon after powering on the system & pressing F10 or F2.

If you want any help, post back.
thanks

You're welcome.
Do update the drivers and BIOS if it recurs.

thanks
