Touchpad Errors

I have had my laptop (Pavilion dv6z-6b00 CTO Quad Edition) for about 6 months, and the touchpad frequently has errors, and it has from day one.  I have tried system recovery, BIOS update, touchpad drivers updated, but I cannot fix this problem.  The problem is, after being left on for a few hours (happens faster when the computer is hot), the touchpad all of the sudden, it won't let me tap to click, and instead detects it as a slide from the bottom left of the touchpad, to the top right of the touchpad, very quickly.  So, if my cursor was in the center of my screen when the error was occurring, and then I tapped, it would end up in the top right of my screen.

I try to hate Macintosh. I really do. But I can't bring myself to hate any electronic device. :smileyhappy:

Re: Touchpad Errors

Since you already did a System Recovery and this is still happening, I would say that there's a strong possibility for a hardware issue here. Usually it's 1 year for warranty. Check out your options with support.

Re: Touchpad Errors

Well, I was afraid that someone would say that.  Thanks anyway though.
