USB 3.0 ports not working on DV6z-7000 notebook, can't find drivers

I have a DV6z-7000 notebook with model number A3G61AV. My OS is Windows 7 64-bit and CPU is A10-4600m.

None of my usb devices, that I connect to the USB 3.0 ports, are functioning (mouse, speakers, etc.)

I've already looked in Device Manager, but didn't see any yellow or red exclamation marks.

I also do not see any chipset or USB related drivers in the HP notebook driver page.

I just had this problem as well.

Do the Windows Trouble Shooter and see if it fix's the problem.

Mine were somehow turned off, all's good now.

Yes, I am ready, but I have some additonal details. Someone told me that the USB 3.0 ports for AMD chipset uses the video driver and I am NOT using HP's drivers. The reason why I am not using HP's video driver is because it was causing freezing and blue screens

"The reason why I am not using HP's driver is because it was causing freezing and blue screens"

The reason why your USB's aren't working, you have the wrong drivers installd.

How old is your notebook,

AND

What other mods have you done to it?

It is about three months old and the only change I made was the graphics driver.

YOU CAN:

1) Undo the change via the recovery manager.

2) Reinstall just the video driver via the recovery manager.

3) Reinstall the OS, your 3 months in and had BSOD's.

4) Keep the current drivers and do without the USB's.

If you continue to have BSOD's go here:

(This team is FANTASTIC and a huge asset to HP customers!)

Check your RAM and HDD 1st, if either is the problem, get a service ticket for return/exchange/repair.

Honestly,,,,,,leave the OS and programs ALONE until the warranty is over.

FYI............

You should thoroughly check all the hardware on a new system before starting to use it.

Just because there are no visable defects, doesn't mean that there aren't any.

There are lots of free utility's available.

>Test your screen with PassMark MonitorTest: PassMark MonitorTest - Test monitors and LCD flat panel screens

>Test your RAM with Memtest86+: Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
I do 1 stick at a time, over night for 10-12 Hrs. Do not send your notebook in if the ram fails, request that HP send it to you and include a prepaid envelope/waybill to send the defective ram back.

> Test your Blu-ray Drive with PassMark Optical Drive Test: PassMark Software - Optical Drive Test Media (CD, DVD and Blu-ray)
I put in a request and got my public library to purchase 3 sets, so I borrow it when needed.

Just don't 'TRUST' that your notebook will have all the different components working properly. Spend some time now to verify that your system board is stable, before you load all your programs in, it will save your time and grief later reinstalling your OS, browser, etc, or dealing with BSOD's etc.
