battery plugged in but not charging

I have a g6 2130so.
I am running windows 8.1 but the error also occurred in windows 7.

Scenario: I shutdown the PC, remove the battery, put it back, plug the charger in and everything is OK. Battery is charging and the battery LED is either white or red. After a while though it stops charging and it would say "plugged in but not charging" and the battery LED would start to flash white light. Connecting/Disconnecting rhe charger does not help., neither does shutting down the PC. The only way to make it charge again is to shutdown the PC, remove the battery and start it again. I am using the latest BIOS provided on hp.com

Re: battery plugged in but not charging

How long have you had the notebook?
