Re: how can i fix dvd ram driver, that says "a driver(service) for this device has been disable

Hi,

First, try the automated fixit from Microsoft on the link below.

Windows 7

Vista

Check if the drive is now working.

If it still doesn't work, click the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.  In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.

sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )

Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.

Next, click the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager.  Next click to open DVD/CD-ROM Drives.  Right click the drive and select uninstall.  Do not delete drivers if asked.  When the device has uninstalled click on the 'Scan for Hardware Changes' icon ( usually just below Help on the toolbar ).  Let windows reinstall the drive and see if it now works.

it is listed, with yellow exclamation mark. And it is not listed in Devices and Printer Window. Thanks for your help.

Re: how can i fix dvd ram driver, that says "a driver(service) for this device has been disable

Hi,

In Device Manager, if you right click the CD/DVD drive and select Uninstall and then 'Scan for Hardware Changes' after, does the drive appear back straight away with the yellow error icon?

Re: how can i fix dvd ram driver, that says "a driver(service) for this device has been disable

I did restart and still under Device Manager, hp DVDRAM GT30L comes back with yellow exclamation mark on it. There is nothing listed under Hp Optical Device.

I did windows Fix it and find the problem with, "YMaxCorp MagicJackPlus CD SUB Device" and says, could not Load Driver Software. Files that help describe the problem: "DMICEO4.tmp.log.xml". and "cdrom.inf. Tanks for help.

Re: how can i fix dvd ram driver, that says "a driver(service) for this device has been disable

Hi,

It may be a conflict between 'Magic Jack' and the driver for the optical drive.

Before trying the following, make sure that you have the installer and any Product/Activation key you need for MagicJack.

To test if this is the case, I would first suggest uninstalling MagicJack by opening windows Control Panel, opening Programs and Features, right clicking the MagicJack entry and selecting Uninstall - when done, restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, click the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.

If it does, try reinstalling MagicJack and check if the drive still works after restarting the notebook.
