double tap the upper left corner of the touchpad to toggle on/off.  should be an icon in that area of the touchpad

Re: how to disable touchpad on elitebook 8460

I double tapped the top left corner to disable the trackpad.  The light is on.  Now I can't re-enable it.  I double tap and nothing happens.  Thoughts?

NM.  A lock and unlock of the workstation seems to have fixed the issue.   -Thx.

Re: how to disable touchpad on elitebook 8460

The previous answers are good for temporary fix.  If you want to permantly disable (instead of toggle) the touchpad to be off, you can also go through the "Control Panel->Mouse->Device Settings" tab, and there you'll see options for TouchStyk as well as the LuxPad, and the buttons for each are called out separately.  So you can disable any of those 4, and they will remain off until you enable them again.

"Control Panel->Mouse->Device Settings" tab.  i don't see a "device settings" tab. Only: "buttons", "pointers", "pointer options", "wheel", and "hardware".
