After I erased the HD in my hp notebook with DBAN, I tried to install a new os,
it would not load, I changed the bios to load from a flash drive, nothing just
kept getting PXE-E61:media test falure check cable",I pulled CMOS batt out and
back nope,I took HD out of of Hp put it in my Dell I was able to load new os on
in the HD.Then I put the HD from my Dell in the HP,it seemed to start up ok and
then I got a blu screen you know w/viruses on computer, check or change HD,run
CHKDSK/F, how do that if I can't log on?.I exchanged HDs,same. But they both work
fine in my much older Dell.Any ideas? Please Thanks Out.

Hi,
Please do not post many posts for a same question. The "PXE-E61:media test falure check cable" message means the machine wants to boot from network. Please try this
Go to BIOS (on Boot press F10).
Go to System Configuration Menu
Boot Options
Change there Network adapter to Hard drive and press F10.
Press F10 to save.
Reboot the machine

I will need more details.
Please write your notebook product number (p/n), which system was installed (or which system you are trying to install) on this notebook and country of purchase.

Problem has been solved ,well some what.
Although nothing I tried would allow me to install a Win OS,I was able to install a Lenux Ubuntu 12.04 OS.
One draw, back can't use netflix on Lenux ,so I installed a virtual box program, and was able to load Windows in it. Now I can see neyflex and I get the best of both worlds.
