Hey there.
I have an HP Pavilion dv3 notebook that came with Vista but I upgraded to Windows 7 (back in September). It's been working all right, but lately when I try to open Microsoft Word, it'll stay open for a few minutes but then I get the BSOD and it displays the following text: "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION."
Does anyone know how to fix this?

should have displayed the actual system service name, something like abcd.sys, if you didn't write it down, goto event log: Start and type eventvwr, in the system section, there should be a RED event that recorded the BSOD with details.
I am an HP employee.
