More than anything I think Intel did fix it at the hardware level. The newer production units work. My honest opinion on what you should do is call HP and detail the problems - make sure you are speaking to the Envy support techs.

Detil for them the lock ups, the driver change helping make it better but when the card still locks ocassionally you want it replaced.

 

I have used all different power and sleep modes and never a lock up and a failure to resume or worse have a lagging card that won't reestablish a connection. 13.0.0.107 driver and a new 6200n did it for me. While you are in warranty get the new card.

 

I may go ahead and load the newer drivers, I believe the 14.x.x.x are compatible with 6200 and 6300 cards.

 

Hope yours keeps working for you. 50-60 hours use a week and a month straight and mine is rock solid.

Unfortunately the above link has been changed for the 13.0.0.107 driver. Do you have the downloaded file please? I have the same problem

Hi,

 

Uninstall the current Intel Wlan driver and restart the system.

 

Resource:
Uninstalling Software in Windows 7

Uninstall or change a program in Windows 7

 

Install the Intel Wlan driver from here (ver 15.2.0) if you are using the 32 bit system.

Install the Intel Wlan driver from here (ver 15.2.0) if you are using the 64 bit system.

 

Restart the system and check the result.

Having installed the version 15 driver from Intel I can tell you it works - to a point. There seems to be some quirky behavior with some access points. This was noted after doing the HP firmware and BIOS updates on the Envy 17.

Many thanks for all your prompt responses. I have updated it to version 15 driver with a BIOS update as per the previous post. For the past 2 odd hours it is behaving well! I will give it a day or two before spending more time with it. J_T_K, How do I receive the version 13.0.0.2 driver from you please, just in case!

Hi,

I am using this driver on my Envy 17 and do not have any problems.

Try to reset the router / access point. Check the manufacturer's website to find out what is the procedure. Each router / access point has a different steps to perform.

Check is there new firmware on the manufacturer site.

Change the channel on channel 11.

FYI I tried the v.15 and the driver wouldn't work at all with my Netgear. It's a router with multiple channels, and it would connect to one channel and not the other.(Identical config and security)  I didn't have time to waste trying to figure out why, I just wanted a reliable driver.
