COMPAQ 6710b CAN'T REINSTALL. POWER GOES OFF WHILE RUNNING INSTALLATION.

Can't install XP on Compaq 6710b laptop. Power goes off when installing O.S

I tried removing the laptop battery and then run the O.S but the same thing happens.

Any ideas!

Hi,

 

Trying to re-install the OS on a Compaq 6710b but during the initial stages of installation, loading drivers etc it just powers off. I have tried 3 XP Pro disks and Vista too. I have resent BIOS to defaults, disabled security etc but no luck. 

 

Anybody had this or anybody got any ideas?
